One of our most exciting emerging artists, Jolyon Madden was born in Essex.

After studying typographic design at The London College of Printing, he went on to spend over 25 years in newspaper design, working alongside a host of editors that included Kelvin MacKenzie, Piers Morgan, Stuart Higgins and Rebekah Brooks.

After a successful placement in New York working for the New York Post, he returned to London and became the Art Director of The Daily Mirror.

Returning to The Sun newspaper in 1998 he became the youngest Art Director the papers history.

His work began to win several awards and prestigious nominations, including the Press Awards Headline of the Year for, ZIP ME UP BEFORE YOU GO GO, and the 'What The Papers Say, Front Page of the Year, award for the papers 'ECLIPSE' front page, 'The Sun...And the moon'.

Jolyon now brings the various elements and disciplines of his previous experiences to canvas with his work.

Receiving praise and acclaim from many quarters for his concise, thought provoking work, flair for the raw and powerful are all hallmarks of his distinct style.

He chooses to work in acrylic, a medium that captures his love of colour and form. His pieces are as diverse and captivating as the artist himself, reflecting his exuberance for life.
