Born in 1950 in Yeovil, Somerset, Keith Richens studied at Somerset College of Art.

Building a career as a freelance illustrator and artist, Keith worked for several major publishers, advertising agencies and design companies before turning his hand to painting professionally, full time.

Inspired by the Naturalist movement in 19th Century European art, Keith prefers to work from his studio, creating his striking images mainly in oil or watercolour. Using reference photography, notes and sketches all made on location, his works are rich with narrative sub-text, designed to fascinate and remain with the viewer.

Elected an Associate Member of the Society of Marine Artists, Keith's work is held in private collections worldwide.
